September 18, 1836
The Greenville First Baptist Church was founded by the Blanchard and Norton families. The congregation was originally only 6 chartered members with itinerant preachers speaking occasionally
Major Milestones
1854: First church constructed on West Main Ave
1902: New church building erected on South Ave.
1936: FBC celebrated its Centennial
1951: Feburary 21st – Church destroyed in a fire
1952: July 6th – New church completed entirely free of debt
1954: July – Parsonage completed and dedicated
1969: August – Completion and dedication of the Educational Wing
1986: 150th Anniversary Celebration
2011: 175th Anniversary Celebration
2021: 185th Anniversary
